About the Company:

EnerPure Inc. (“EnerPure” or the “Company”) is a Canadian Cleantech Company founded in Manitoba to address the global recycling of used motor oil through the roll-out of modular skid design recycling plants.

EnerPure’s regeneration technology uses a patented three phase, closed loop, continuous flow process to convert waste motor oil into a market-ready marine distillate fuel that exceeds the highest fuel standard now required by ISO 8217 and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) which mandates a maximum sulphur content of 0.5% - EnerPure’s fuel is less than 0.1% sulphur and is 8-14% less carbon intensive than comparable fuels.

Company Highlights:

  • Proven Technology

    • EnerPure has developed and commercialized an internationally patented, regeneration process to recycle waste motor oil into high quality, low sulphur, marine distillate fuel

    • EnerPure’s micro-regeneration technology creates a profitable opportunity to recycle waste oil where using traditional processes are not feasible; allowing EnerPure to target the over 22 billion litres of global waste oil that is currently not recycled through the deployment of hundreds of regeneration units globally, with over 60 targeted for North America

    • In late 2020, EnerPure began commercial operations at its Southern Manitoba Facility and has sold its fuel to Maersk, the largest shipping company in the world

    • EnerPure’s Southern Manitoba facility has produced over 2,000,000 litres of waste oil into high quality fuel

    • During its development, EnerPure has been supported by Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC), other government programs, and over 250 qualified investors

  • Proven Industry Acceptance of Fuel

    • In 2021, EnerPure executed an initial four year off-take agreement with Elbow River Marketing, a subsidiary of Parkland Corporation, the largest fuel distributor in Canada.  Under this off-take agreement, EnerPure’s fuel has been sold to Maersk, the largest marine shipping company in the world

  • Proven Investor Support – Raised over $40M including consistent provincial and federal support which has been deployed to create the intellectual property and build the first full-scale regeneration unit

  • Broad International Patent Portfolio – Multiple process and utility patents held in Canada, US, Europe, Asia and Africa

  • Proven Cleantech Technology – Each regeneration unit offsets GHG emissions by over almost 16,000 tonnes annually, providing valuable credit opportunities for the Company

  • Strong Economic Returns (per plant)

    • CAPEX: US$15m

    • NPV8: US$50m

    • Payback: less than 3 years

    • Fuel conversion efficiency: 92%

    • IRR: 49%

    • Gross Revenue: US$16m

    • EBITDA: US$5.8m

The Problem

Nearly 80% (22 billion litres) of the 28 billion litres of waste oil generated globally is either:

  • Disposed of by incineration

  • Dumped indiscriminately

    • 1 litre of waste oil contaminates 1,000,000 litres of fresh water

  • Burnt as a cheap industrial heater fuel

    • Burning waste oil emits 8,000x more lead, 196x more sulphur oxides, 128x more arsenic and 35x more inhalable particulate matter than a space heater burning heating oil

Dated technologies have only been able to recycle 20% of global waste oil and is unable to target the remaining 80% available

EnerPure brings the solution to the waste, rather than bringing the waste to the solution.

The EnerPure Solution

  • EnerPure’s regeneration technology uses a patented three phase, closed loop, continuous flow process to convert waste motor oil into a market-ready marine fuel

  • Each regeneration unit uses a skid-mounted standardized design to maximize ease-of-deployment and operational efficiency.

  • EnerPure’s environmentally-friendly regeneration process is profitable while being a net reducer of GHG emission

  • The global deployment of regeneration units will be regionally targeted at the 80% of waste oil that is currently not being recycled
